Contact Susan

Susan Moss Hayden

Susan is an engineer that scored a fantastic spouse and two great kids (girls). She started swimming at her kid's pool in 2001 in the Masters program after sitting on the pool deck for a couple months, watching. She started running and biking the next year. She did her first triathlon in 2002 after watching her husband compete in the Louisiana Triathlon. She was hooked. Three triathlons later she signed up for her first Half Ironman and found Long Course Triathlon was her passion. 10+ Half Ironman's and 5+ Ironman's later she is working hard towards nudging towards middle of the pack but having fun the whole way. During this journey she discovered that being a Race Director for Rocketkidz Triathlon and the Rocketchix Triathlon series (as well as some other running events) ignited her desire to 'pay it forward' and help others find the gift of fitness as an older athlete, busy parent and working girl.....and help their kids get fit too. She plans to sign up for something scary and different every year just to keep things interesting.

Contact Craig

Craig Sweeney

Craig is a Technical Recruiter who was born and raised in Baton Rouge until meeting his wife Mignon playing Beach Volleyball in 1999. They currently reside in Madisonville, LA with their three boys Merritt (5), Grant (3) and Nathan (1). In 2003, Craig completed his first Half Marathon and in 2004 they had their first son Merritt. Three boys in five years was a good excuse for limited racing, but it was the onset of the third that kicked things in gear again. It started back with dodging Hurricane Gustav and Craig entered a Labor Day 5K in Ft. Worth, TX. The Triathlon bug bit Craig while Volunteering for RocketChix. While racing in his first Triathlon in SanDestin in 2009, he wondered why it took him so long to do a Triathlon, and he never looked back. In February 2010, Craig completed his first Marathon, the New Orleans Rock & Roll Mardi Gras Marathon. Seven weeks later, in his third Triathlon, Craig completed the New Orleans Ironman 70.3 and has plans for another 70.3 in the Fall of 2010.

As a varsity swimmer at Bates College, Damon set two school records in 200x and 400x IM and competed in the NCAA National Championships. Damon was captain of the swim team for two years and was inducted to the athletics hall of fame.

In 2010 Damon was selected to participate in the Ironman World Championships held on October 9 in Kona, Hawaii. He is using his participation in this event as a foundation for raising awareness for preventing childhood obesity and for the Rocketkidz Foundation.
